after an adventurous lunch
at a local inn along the road
the buses reached Kiev.
the Ukrainian capital.
and parked at Lybid hotel
where after the last dinner
of the Journey
a photo of the entire group
was cheerfully taken.
just before the group
started a panoramic night tour
in the big city.
in contrast to the extremely sunny TAL DAY of yesterday.
the weather however became a bit warmer
when the buses arrived in the town of Rovno
where there are several small monuments
to commemorate the Jewish victims of the past
and the participants gathered to look around.
the main monument could be found.
TAL veterans Tuvia and Nachman
made their way to the main monument
as TAL veteran Shmuel told everybody
the history of the place.
the distinguished governing committee
headed by the chairman of TAL-House
decided to donate 250$ for the cause.
and in order to set a good example
the participants began to clean the place...
the film crew decided
that the big stars of their film.
the first generation participants.
should enter Kiev in a limousine...
to rejoin the common people...
as they were busy on the buses
writing their appraisals
in the special notebook that was to be given
to the organiser later on as a present.
and as the driving was long and tiring
it was decided to stop for an hour
in a local restaurant on the way.
and as English was not very common around
the participants needed the help of the elders
that were glad to serve as interpreters...
the group entered the big city of Kiev
and after the last dinner of the Journey
at the impressive dining room of the Lybid hotel
the participants gathered all together
for a panoramic picture of the entire group
before going out to see Kiev at night.
around the centre of the Ukrainian capital
was an opportunity to become overwhelmed
by this city with its huge and lighted buildingst.
so much so that later on some of the participants
caught the last Metro with its never ending escalator...
and enjoyed a cold night walk in the city centre.
