 back to front page

Introduction

the sixth day of the Journey
TAL DAY
a sunny day indeed
was entirely devoted to the visit
in the fields where the 2 towns
Trochenbrod And Lozisht
were once to be found.
the group also went
into the Yeromaly forest
where both a traditional
and a modern events
took place by the trees
before hitting the road back.

the arrival

it was a sunny morning
when the largest group of Jewish people
since the demise of the towns
more than 100 men and women
arrived in what once were
Trochenbrod and Lozisht.

in town

the participants of the Journey
as well as the many local people
from the neighbouring villages
walked all over the place.
some of them preferred to sit down
and fully absorb the historic moments.

first monument

the group reached the first of 4 monuments
which can be found there.
the veterans of TAL told the younger ones
the story of the monuments.

second monument

Hanna and Tuvia
veterans of TAL
and some of their fellow participants
had found a few moments of rest
by the second monument.
just as the painting works began...

the plane

as the group were on the ground
Avrom was up above on the plane.
viewing the historic event from the blue sky.

the walk

both TAL veteran Betty and Dima's grandmother Henya
who is actually also a TAL veteran from Lutsk
exchanged views with the local people
while along the main road of town
it was TAL veteran Shmuel who guided everybody
through the imaginative TAL streets...

the forest

when TAL veteran Nachman concluded his explanation
all was ready to hit the road again.
climbing on the funny vehicles
and entering the forest
where the other 2 monuments
are to be found.

the memorial

a traditional ceremony took place
by the other 2 monuments.
all of the 4 TAL male veterans
Shmuel , Mayer , Nachman , and Tuvia
took part in the ceremony
while the 2 TAL female veterans Channa and Betty
were terribly busy elsewhere...

the ceremony

inside the forest a more modern ceremony took place.
poems in Hebrew were read aloud
interwoven with classical Israeli songs.
all of those who were there
seemed to be more than moved
by that exceptionally special event.

the ice cream

back in Domashov , the village near by
a local ice-cream was to be found
before driving back to the hotel
for the third story-telling evening of its kind.
