Introduction

the fifth day of the Journey began in Lviv
as the group left the urban landscape
and entered the country side
stopping at a few farms
before arriving in Lutsk.
from there the buses reached
a neighbouring village
where one of the participants
was once a resident
and then another village before coming back
to the centre of Lutsk.
after dinner took place at the Ukraina hotel
an evening of story-telling began
and later on at night it was the young ones
who had their say...

the country side

the group said farewell to Lviv.
got on the big buses and entered the country side.
the urban Ukrainian landscape was soon to be replaced
by the green fields and the various farms around.

the village

the buses arrived at the small village
that Fania came from which is located near Lutsk.
her brother and his family came especially from abroad
to be present together with the participants
at the memorial service that took place over there.

the other village

the group then went on
to see Kolki , another village around.
it was now Tal veteran Nachman
together with Golda who comes from a village near by
that were telling the participants
about that village and its surrounding.

the centre of town

the buses arrived at the Ukraina hotel
which is located in the centre of Lutsk.
a show of traditional folk dances
took place at the town square.
the participants would then walk around in town
just before dinner started at the hotel.

after having dinner the participants stayed on
at the pleasant dining room
for the second of three story-telling evenings
of the Journey.
